Hi Toothers,
Time for an update! Things are steadily moving along as we continue to hone our takeout-only business. As much as we have replanted our feet firmly under us, in terms of providing safe & efficient takeout business, we do have to continue to adjust and plan for the future. To that end, we have put together a recall policy for staff who are not currently working (keep reading to learn more). We are happy to share the following staff updates:
EMPLOYMENT STATUS/RECALL POLICY – For any furloughed employees (anyone that is not getting scheduled for any shifts), here is what our recall policy will look like moving forward:
Once a manager has work to offer you and is ready to add you back onto the schedule, your manager will reach out to you and let you know that you are being ‘recalled’ to work. This determination will be based on seniority, position, and skill level. You will have 48 hours to determine if you would like to continue your position with the company. If you come back onto the schedule, your seniority will be maintained where it was before you were furloughed. If you decide not to come back, we will separate employment at that time and you will lose your seniority. It is important to note that if you choose not to come back to work at the time we are offering you employment, the Alaska Unemployment office will view that as you ‘quitting’ and continued unemployment benefits could be adversely affected. If you are not currently working and are no longer interested in staying on our recall list, please contact Lisa/HR at 222-1560 or email freshalelisa@gmail.com so that we can move forward with separating employment.
INSURANCE BENEFITS – Great news for everyone!
All employees who are currently enrolled in health benefits CAN continue on our plan for the month of May. This is true whether you are working any shifts or not. You will still receive the employer contribution and you will only be responsible for the employee premium amount that is normally deducted from your paycheck. If you are working less than 3 shifts per week and would prefer to cancel your benefits, please reach out to HR/Admin (aka Lisa or Andrea) ASAP to cancel coverage and discuss options. 222-1560 or email freshalelisa@gmail.com or andrea.bearmoose@gmail.com. If you are not working enough shifts to have your portion of the premium deducted from your paycheck, you will need to reach out to the Accounting Dept to make payment at 222-1560 or email brooke.bearmoose@gmail.com or hayley.bearmoose@gmail.com
COVID BONUS PAY – More great news!
We will continue the COVID Bonus Pay for FOH & BOH hourly employees through the month of May!
• All BOH workers: $4/hour crisis pay on all hours worked May 1st – May 31st
• All FOH workers: $2/hour crisis bonus on all hours worked May 1st – May 31st
401K EMPLOYER MATCHING REINSTATED – The good news just keeps on coming.
We have determined that we can reinstate our regular 401(k) employer contribution!! If you have a 401(k) plan and would like to change your contribution or temporarily stop contributing, email Brooke at brooke.bearmoose@gmail.com.
If you have questions about any of these updates, please feel free to reach out to your manager or call Admin/HR/Accounting at 222-1560. We are happy to help in any way we can. Thanks!
